Sabine Pothier, Pianist, composer and arranger is from Russia, Moscow specifically. Moscow is the capital city and the most populous federal subject of Russia. The city is a major political, economic, cultural and scientific center in Russia and in Europe.
Sabine (Yelena Koshelevskaya) is classically trained on piano, her musical studies began at an early age, Concerto when she was 15, in just three months! She has the ability to combine finesse and sensitivity with breath-taking virtuosity.
Sabine was first introduced to Jazz while attending the University of Southern California (USC). She’s attained a USC Graduate Performance Certificate, Boston Conservatory Graduate Performance Diploma, University of Northern Iowa Artist Diploma and Russian Academy of Music BA. Sabine is self-taught in Jazz, however she has an everlasting appreciation and admiration for her mentor and friend Fred Foss, Saxophonist. Â Foss played a significant part in nurturing Sabine’s development in her early explorative years of Jazz music. Sitting down with Sabine was a real pleasure loving this music.
